baby powder + distracted parents + boredom = big mess

So, what could happen when Dad is on the phone and holding baby sister and Mom is painting the closet. Well, someone that was watching Tinker Bell could get bored and find the baby powder in the bathroom and decide to spread it EVERYWHERE!! I really mean everywhere. It was on the tv, dresser, bed, toys, floor, in the closet. Oh, and there were big wads of toilet paper on the bathroom floor where she tried to clean up some of it. Did I mention it was all over her too. I have to admit that it was funny. We just told her not to waste stuff and gave her a little lecture.

Fun in the snow

We got a very little it of snow, however it was very exciting. Since we don't get snow very often it is always a fun surprise to wake up to a white winter wonderland. Our snow was a big mix of sleet which makes the snow hard to play in. We had to throw handfulls that wouldn't stick together. Jamie took Morgan out first then after lunch I took her out again. I wanted to play in the snow too!! We had a great time. I hope it snows again soon. Morgan told us we could go to Walmart and buy her a sled. So, maybe next time we will be prepared with a sled.

A Great Sisiter

I am an only child, so it is very interesting to me how Morgan and Maggie interact. Even though Maggie is only 3 weeks old I have really noticed a lot about Morgan's character when I see them together. Morgan is definitely in need of more attention. I think it's all part of being 3. She however, has show incredible love for her new sister. She is always excited to see her. She always wants to hold and feed her, even if Maggie is screaming. Morgan tries to entertain her with toys and by talking to her. Before Maggie was born I thought Morgan would be jealous and maybe not even like the baby. I was really wrong she loves her little sister more and more every day. I love the way Morgan lights up when she sees her and calls her "my baby".

Feeding "THE BEAST"

In the hospital our little newborn Maggie got the nickname "The Beast" from the nursing staff. One morning about 5 or 6am when her Dr was doing rounds he came into our room to tell me he had checked her and she had a nick name. I think some people might have been offended but we thought it was hilarious. She was eating a lot (I guess more that most babies) and since we were writing it down everyone could see just how much. I had tried nursing her without much luck. Her first night I was on an IV of magnesium for my blood pressure and I could not keep her in the room myself because the meds impair your vision. Anyway she had bottles all night and I was pretty much out of it. The next day I tried to nurse her with the lactation nurses help and Jamie too. Poor Maggie was very upset. She wanted to eat right then. She did not want to make an effort or wait on my milk to arrive. So, after much crying by me and her, we went to a bottle. She was happy and when my milk came in I started pumping so she could have the best of both. When she wakes up she crys until the bottle is in her mouth. Not unlike most babies, but she is very calm otherwise. Just make sure she's on full and you are good to go!! This explains her 8oz gain in one week!
