We took the kids to Bryson city last weekend to ride the Polar Express. Our neighbors and friends the Cassidys also went. We rented a cabin and stayed three nights. Our cabin was very cute and cozy! We even had a hot tub on the deck that Morgan loved. She thought it was a swimming pool.
The train ride was Saturday and we met up with the Cassidys and had a fun evening exploring Bryson city downtown. Our ride was at 630 so we had time to check out the train museum and some stores and get some dinner before our trip to the North Pole. We all changed into our pajamas and climbed on board. They gave us cookies and hot chocolate. They even had a hobo like on the movie. We rode through the North Pole and saw Santa, then we stopped and he got on the train. As we waited for him to get to our train car we sang all the favorite Christmas carols. When Santa got to us he went from bench to bench seeing all the children and handing our bells. It was a fun trip and the kids had a great time.
Sunday, we went to Cherokee and mined for gems. We also walked by the river and checked out a few stores. They had a movie theater so that evening we went back to watch the new Muppet movie. It was a fun trip and good to get away.
